The works of the Suzuki Morihisa Workshop are characterized by delicate expressions and sophistication. Despite being made of iron, they exhibit a moist and soft iron texture. The design applied to the body features a classical form with a flat sacred jewel motif, adorned with a pattern reminiscent of falling snowflakes. The knob on the lid is crafted in the shape of a pinecone, adding a unique touch to the piece. The character "Kasumi" in the name is said to signify "eternity" due to its association with mist or haze, where distant scenery appears blurred. This is because it repeatedly appears and disappears, symbolizing the perpetual and cyclical nature, leading to the interpretation of an eternal meaning. In Japanese waka and haiku poetry, expressions like "Kasumi" for spring or "Kiri” for autumn are often used. These words serve as a means to express the beauty of nature and the changing seasons. These pieces capture the subtle shifts in seasons and
the beauty of landscapes, creating exquisite works that evoke a sense of the season.
