Born in Japan in 1967, Go Noda began his career as a furniture designer, driven by a passion for materials, craftsmanship, and cultural narrative.

In 2003, he founded the interior brand AREA, taking the lead as its executive designer. His vision and design philosophy quickly gained recognition in Japan and abroad. To expand globally, AREA opened its first international location in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris, in 2019, followed by a New York location in 2023—marking AREA as the first Japanese furniture brand to establish a truly global presence.

Among Noda’s most acclaimed creations are board Hashirama and chair Ginzan.
His unique method of reinterpreting Japanese culture through deep historical research and translating it into modern design has earned him a loyal following around the world.
