Executive designer of the brand

Born in Chigasaki, Japan, in 1967. Interior designer.
After graduating from Tokai University, he studied architecture at a building materials manufacturer and furniture design at a furniture manufacturer.In 2003, he launched the furniture brand “AREA” and assumed overall leadership as the main designer.
After gaining popularity in Japan, he expanded AREA to Saint- Germain-des-Prés in Paris, France, in 2019.In 2023, he opened a store in New York, USA, becoming the first Japanese furniture manufacturer to establish a global brand.
His notable works include the Board BRAHMA and the Chair Ginzan.
Thanks to his unique approach of unraveling Japanese culture from a distinctiveperspective grounded in historical research and projecting it into his products, his fanbase is growing day by day.
